‘AIGNITE ‘25 Empowering Bangladesh’s Youth in Artificial Intelligence’ discussion program was held at Uttara University. On Thursday, 14 August 2025, at the university’s Multipurpose Hall, the event brought together renowned professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across the country, who inspired the university’s students to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence and provided them with valuable guidance. Highlighting the importance of balancing technology with human skill, Professor Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Uttara University and Chief Guest of the event, remarked, “The human brain is far more valuable and powerful than AI. AI can make our work easier, but we must ensure that technology does not take over our intellect.”
Students also engaged in an interactive AI-themed quiz competition with prizes awarded to the winners making the learning experience both fun and rewarding. Syed Almas Kabir, Advisor and Former Director of FBCCI, encouraged students to focus on skill-building and continuous learning saying, “One must prove their worth in the workplace through skills. AI is helping us learn a great deal in a very short time.”

The seminar featured insightful discussions from experts across industries. Subah Afrin, Vice President & Head of Trade Product at Citibank, N.A. Bangladesh, shared her experiences in leveraging technology for business solutions, while Rezwan Arefin, Lead, IoT Product Manager at Grameenphone, spoke on AI-driven innovations in telecommunications. Quazi Tafsirul Islam, Senior Lecturer at North South University, highlighted practical applications of AI for learning and entrepreneurship. Other distinguished guests including Muhammad Aminur Rahman, Lecturer at the University of Scholars, Minhaz-us-Salakeen Fahme, Co-founder & Chairman of Battery Low Interactive Ltd., and Md Altamis Nabil, Author and Youth Activist, shared valuable insights on leadership, innovation, and the transformative potential of AI.
Organized in association with the Office of External Affairs, the event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mohammad Ali, in charge of the Office of External Affairs. Media partner Tech World provided extensive coverage, helping highlight the opportunities AI offers to Bangladesh’s youth. AIgnite-25 successfully showcased how young minds can embrace artificial intelligence to innovate, solve problems and shape the future while valuing human creativity and intellect.
