UU celebrates research, recognizes impact

Uttara University celebrated its Annual Research and Publication Award Ceremony 2026, recognizing and honoring the outstanding scholarly contributions of its faculty members, staff, and students.
In 2025, 82 researchers collectively produced a number of publications indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, a significant milestone in the university’s growing research journey.
Research grants were awarded to the researchers, along with certificates recognizing their scholarly achievements.
Three researchers were also honored with special awards:
  • Best High-Impact Publication Award – Mr. Nur Ahammad
  • Most Published Paper Award – Dr. Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury
  • Best Early Career Researcher Award – Md. Hanif Munshi
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Firdausi Qadri, Senior Scientist, icddr,b, emphasized the importance of encouraging more women researchers to come forward and pursue meaningful research in Bangladesh, particularly in public health and life sciences, through collaboration with leading global universities and organizations.
The Vice Chancellor reiterated Uttara University’s commitment to strengthening national and international research collaborations, while expanding support for research projects, conference participation and scholarly publications.
Professor Dr. Md. Sultanul Islam, Director, CRT, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to building a research-oriented academic environment and motivating faculty members, researchers and students to pursue high-quality, impactful research.
With research, innovation and global collaboration at the heart of its academic journey, Uttara University continues to invest in creating knowledge that matters, and research that makes an impact.
