The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Uttara University, has successfully completed its Curriculum Development Program, a day-long academic event held on Thursday, 11 September 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

The program focused on key academic priorities such as the transition of the syllabus from a bi-semester to a tri-semester system and the resolution of related anomalies. It also finalised Outcome-Based Education (OBE) course profiles for Summer 2025 and Fall 2025. In addition, the sessions emphasized the preparation of syllabi for three newly proposed undergraduate programs, BSc in Artificial Intelligence, BSc in Cyber Security, and BSc in Data Science & Machine Learning, while also addressing various academic and administrative matters.

The Department of CSE gratefully acknowledges the guidance of Professor Dr. Mirza Golam Rabbani, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering; Professor Dr. Md. Shakowat Zaman Sarker, Associate Dean of SoSE and Chair of the Department of EEE; and Associate Professor Dr. Kamal Uddin Sarker, Chairman of the Department of CSE. Their valuable advice in reordering courses across semesters, correcting course naming conventions, and adjusting credit hours in accordance with IEB accreditation guidelines significantly enriched the program. Their thoughtful input ensured that the curriculum remains aligned with both national and international academic standards.

Faculty members actively participated throughout the sessions, offering their expertise in syllabus development, course restructuring, and OBE alignment. Their collective contributions have paved the way for a robust and future-ready curriculum that addresses emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Data Science & Machine Learning.

The Department of CSE extends its sincere appreciation to all contributors for making this academic initiative a success. The program stands as a testament to the University’s commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and research, while preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
