Uttara University proudly took part in Digital Universities Asia 2025 held on July 8–9, 2025, in Hong Kong, a premier global event that brings together visionary leaders from academia, technology, and public policy to reimagine the future of higher education through digital transformation. Hosted in partnership with Lingnan University, the two-day summit focused on the theme “Powering Social Innovation with Digital Transformation”, welcoming over 300 attendees, 50+ expert speakers, and representatives from 27+ countries.

Representing Uttara University at this prestigious gathering were Sheikh Yasha Shan, Director of the Institutional Ranking Cell (IRC), and a distinguished member of the University’s Board of Trustees. Their participation underscores the university’s strategic focus on embracing global educational trends and pioneering innovation in teaching and learning.

Notable keynote speakers at the event included Ishan Kolhatkar, Global Client Evangelist at Inspera, who emphasized the importance of adopting modern assessment tools and digital testing systems to enhance the educational experience. Li Junfeng, Vice-President of Huawei Technologies and CEO of Global Public Sector, delivered an insightful keynote on empowering education through digital technologies and AI, highlighting how innovation can reshape learning environments. Meanwhile, Albert Ko, Director of the Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative, conducted a hands-on workshop focused on designing humanitarian technology within the context of liberal arts education, encouraging institutions to foster inclusive and socially responsible innovation.
