Uttara University organized the Financial & Career Literacy Program – 2026 (Season 1) at the Multipurpose Hall of the university on 9th April 2026, in collaboration with Prime Bank Academia. The event was supported by the Office of External Affairs and the Brand Communication Office of Uttara University.

The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of financial management and career development, equipping them with essential knowledge and insights to make informed decisions and remain competitive in today’s rapidly evolving global job market.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers from Prime Bank PLC, including M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Additional Managing Director and Head of Consumer & SME Banking; Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Liability & Women Banking; and M. M. Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Ishrat Hossain, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University, who introduced the guests and highlighted the importance of financial and career literacy for students.

In his keynote address, M. Nazeem A. Choudhury emphasized career development strategies, highlighting the growing importance of data science, AI-based learning, and communication skills in securing future opportunities, while also stressing youth empowerment for national progress. Shaila Abedin shared insights from her professional journey, focusing on career growth, resilience, and maintaining work-life balance, particularly for women in the corporate sector. Meanwhile, M. M. Mahbub Hasan discussed financial inclusion and the role of school banking in developing a financially aware generation.

A poster presentation session was also arranged, where more than ten student groups showcased innovative and research-based ideas. The program was graced by Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar of Uttara University, as the Special Guest. Dr. Soeb Md. Shoayeb Noman, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, along with other senior faculty members, also attended the event.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ishrat Hossain, expressing gratitude to all guests, participants, and organizers for making the program a success.
