On 10 December 2025, the UU Business Club and the Office of External Affairs jointly organized a seminar titled “Professional Etiquette” at the Conference Room of Uttara University.
Mr. Sakib Ahmed, CEO of Smartgrad and MBA alumnus of Oxford University, served as the Keynote Speaker. He highlighted key professional etiquettes expected from job seekers and emphasized how these skills contribute to career success and leadership development. In his speech, he elaborated on the importance of identifying problems accurately before attempting solutions, stating that failure to recognize a problem often requires seeking support from others. He noted that identifying the problem itself accomplishes half of the task. Additionally, he discussed the importance of maintaining professionalism by avoiding personal emotions in workplace decisions and interactions.
More than 100 students and 30 senior faculty members participated in the seminar.
Dr. Md. Ishrat Hossain, Dean of the School of Business Administration, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He underscored the significance of career-oriented programs and provided valuable guidance to students. He encouraged participants to continuously improve their soft and hard skills, even after graduation, and emphasized the need for regular seminars that address detailed career-related discussions for the benefit of students.

Ms. Tasfia Afrin Faria, Lecturer and Adviser of the Business Club, concluded the program with a vote of thanks and an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage directly with the keynote speaker regarding career prospects and industry expectations.
Overall, the seminar was informative, engaging, and highly beneficial for students seeking to understand essential professional etiquette and workplace competencies.
