Uttara University marked the celebration of Pohela Boishakh 1433 on 16th April 2026, with a grand visual and culturally enriched Boishakhi Utshab, uniting students, faculty members, officials and distinguished guests in observance of the Bengali New Year.

The university campus was elegantly transformed into a vibrant fairground adorned with traditional decorations, reflecting the rich heritage and cultural identity of Bangladesh. The thoughtfully arranged stalls and festive displays created an inviting and lively atmosphere, fostering a strong sense of community and cultural pride among attendees. The mela featured a range of traditional attractions, including kite displays, a Nagordola, balloon shooting activities, and a bioscope, offering both entertainment and a nostalgic connection to cultural traditions. Refreshments were also provided, contributing to the overall comfort and enjoyment of participants.

A highlight of the celebration was the cultural program, which showcased a series of refined musical and dance performances, demonstrating the artistic excellence within the university community. The Honorable Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, graced the occasion and delivered a meaningful address, emphasizing the significance of cultural preservation and collective harmony. The event was further honored by the presence of Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar of UU; Mr. Mohammad Ali, Controller of Examinations; and Professor Dr. Parveen Akther Jemy, Advisor to UU. Their distinguished attendance added considerable prestige to the occasion and reflected strong institutional commitment and administrative support.

An insightful speech was delivered by Fatiha Ayat on the Millennium Development Goals, thoughtfully connecting global development priorities with the role of youth in shaping a sustainable future. The program concluded with a series of musical performances by Wahida Tamanna Hussain and her team, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
