The Center for Research and Training (CRT) at Uttara University successfully organized its annual project proposal defense program, titled “Showcasing Research Excellence: CRT Proposal Defense 2026,” held on April 22 and 23 at Conference Room 2100 on the university campus.
The program was inaugurated by Professor Dr. A. S. M. Shahabuddin, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), who emphasized the importance of maintaining rigorous research standards to ensure academic integrity and innovation. The inaugural session was also attended by Professor Dr. Md. Sultanul Islam, Director of CRT; Associate Director Dr. Saleh Ahmad; Executive Members Dr. Nilufer Yesmin Tanisa and Dr. Kazi Sirajul Islam; and Jabed Hossen Emon, among others.
A total of 40 research project proposals, covering advanced and innovative topics across science, engineering, social sciences, and humanities, were presented by 55 research scholars. The event provided a dynamic platform for participants to present their research objectives, methodologies, and anticipated contributions to their respective fields.
Experts from 18 public and private universities participated as reviewers, offering critical evaluations and constructive feedback that significantly contributed to the refinement and enhancement of the research proposals.
To ensure academic rigor and quality, a panel of distinguished external examiners participated in the evaluation process, including: Prof. Dr. Md. Akramul Alam, Prof. Dr. Md. The organizers highlighted that the CRT initiative continues to foster a strong culture of research excellence, collaboration, and interdisciplinary engagement, in line with Uttara University’s motto, “Excellence in Higher Education and Research.”
The closing session was addressed by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, who delivered an inspiring speech encouraging innovation, ethical research practices, and academic excellence.
The two-day program concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing impactful research and strengthening contributions to the broader academic community.
