The School of Business, in collaboration with the Office of External Affairs, Uttara University, organized a seminar titled “Land Your Dream Job: Master CV Writing and Interview Techniques” on 28 November 2025 at the University Conference Room.

The session was conducted by Ms. Tanaka Islam, Head of HR, Maersk (Bangladesh & Sri Lanka). In her presentation, she provided a comprehensive overview of professional CV writing, emphasizing its significance in securing employment opportunities. She explained the key components of a well-structured CV, offered practical strategies for enhancing its effectiveness, and outlined common mistakes candidates should avoid.

Ms. Islam also discussed essential interview techniques, focusing on how candidates can effectively present their skills, experiences, and personality to potential employers. She highlighted that creating a positive impression and meeting the expectations of interviewers significantly increases the likelihood of being selected for a position. Her session was highly insightful, interactive, and well-appreciated by the participants.

More than 100 students from the Dept. of Business Administration, Fashion Design & Technology and Textile Engineering attended the seminar. The event provided them with valuable guidance to enhance their job readiness and competitiveness in the job market.

The seminar was graced by the Dean Dr. Ishrat Hossain and Associate Dean Prof. Farruque Mohammad Masud from the School of Business, both of whom delivered motivating remarks. They encouraged students to implement the strategies shared during the session to improve their professional prospects and career development.

The program concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, during which students received personalized advice and clarifications on CV development and interview preparation. Overall, the seminar successfully contributed to strengthening students’ employability skills and aligning them with industry expectations.
