On October 15, 2025, as part of the month-long Mental Health Awareness Campaign, Uttara University successfully organized a Mental Health First Aid Seminar for Faculty to strengthen mental health awareness and responsiveness within the academic community.

The seminar aimed to empower educators to recognize, respond to, and refer students experiencing mental health challenges. Through in-depth discussions on “What is Mind,” “What is Mental Health,” and the respective roles of Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, and Psychiatrists, faculty members gained a deeper understanding of mental well-being in the campus context.

Key sessions on Mental Health First Aid, thresholds and triggers, do’s and don’ts, brief interventions, and referral practices provided educators with practical tools to offer timely support and ensure student safety and well-being.

This initiative reflects Uttara University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a compassionate, supportive, and mentally healthy academic environment, where both students and faculty can thrive with empathy and understanding.
