Uttara University (UU) encourages high-quality research contributions from its faculty members and staff. To promote impactful publications in high-indexed journals, UU has revised its Reward Policy for Research and Publications, effective for all articles published on or after January 1, 2026.
Each journal article or book chapter published in a regular/special issue by a UU faculty member and staff that is indexed in Scopus or Web of Science and involved no article processing charge (APC), will receive a cash reward based on the quartile as follows:
| Sl | Scopus Quartile status when published | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as corresponding/ first/second author among authors | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as third/fourth author among authors | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as fifth/sixth among authors (will not be considered after sixth) | Reward (BDT) for two UU affiliations among authors | Reward (BDT) for three UU affiliations (or first three UU affiliations if more than three within six authors) among authors |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Q1 and Q2 | 30,000 | 25,000 | 15,000 |
| 2 | Q3 and Q4 | 20,000 | 15,000 | 10,000 |
Each journal article, book chapter, or conference proceeding published in a regular/special issue by a UU faculty member and staff that is indexed in Scopus or Web of Science and involved article processing charge (APC), a maximum APC up to USD 200 will be funded by UU to either the corresponding or first or second author with UU affiliation. Proof of APC must be submitted to the Office of the CRT (bank transfer, invoice, journal acceptance letter and other documents). Any external co-author (non UU affiliation) will not receive the APC. If the APC is less than USD 200, then the actual amount will be funded. If the APC is more than USD 200, then the additional amount on top of USD 200 needs to be managed by the authors. Additionally, they will receive a cash reward of 50% of Reward Policy 1 based on the quartile as follows:
| Sl | Scopus Quartile status when published | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as corresponding/ first/second author among authors | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as third/fourth author among authors | Reward (BDT) for only UU affiliation as fifth/sixth among authors (will not be considered after sixth) | Reward (BDT) for two UU affiliations among authors | Reward (BDT) for three UU affiliations (or first three UU affiliations if more than three within six authors) among authors |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Q1 and Q2 | 15,000 | 12,500 | 7,500 |
| 2 | Q3 and Q4 | 10,000 | 7,500 | 5,000 |
If any UU faculty member or staff wants to participate at any international conference (physical, online or hybrid mode) indexed in Scopus or Web of Science database, will receive a grant up to USD 100 to partially cover up the cost of registration fee, transport allowance (if physical) etc. If the proceedings of that conference or selected papers of that proceedings are published in a special/regular issue of a journal and indexed in Scopus or Web of Science, then s/he can claim the Reward Policy 2. Only one person (presenter or attendee of the conference/corresponding or first author of the proceedings) from the author list will receive the cash reward as per Reward Policy 2.
Any current UU student, journal publication indexed in Scopus or Web of Science, will receive a cash reward of BDT 10,000 for single author and BDT 15,000 for multiple authors. A maximum of two UU students will be eligible for the reward and they need to be corresponding/first/second authors (After second authors, none will be considered). Faculty members or staff, if involved in the publication as co-author, will not receive any cash reward irrespective of the authorship position.
