The Mental Health Unit successfully organized an interactive workshop titled “Balance, Breathe, Perform: Stress Management Strategies” with the participation of Physical Education students and faculty members. Quality education begins with mental well-being. The Uttara University Mental Health Unit is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can learn, grow and reach their full potential. By promoting mental health awareness, providing support and fostering resilience, we contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 4, enssuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all, and Sustainable Development Goal 3 by advancing good health and well-being.

The workshop focused on understanding stress, identifying its common signs and symptoms, and learning practical ways to manage academic, athletic, and everyday pressures. Participants explored how stress affects the body, mind, emotions, and performance through interactive discussions, relatable examples, and engaging activities.

The session was conducted by Afshana Najnin Jicia, Assistant Counselling Psychologist, Mental Health Unit, who introduced participants to evidence-based stress management techniques, including breathing exercises, mindfulness, healthy coping strategies, cognitive reframing, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR). Participants also reflected on personal stressors and explored practical ways to strengthen balance, resilience, and well-being.
The active participation of the students and faculty members made the session meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable. It was encouraging to see everyone connect, share experiences, and practise techniques that can be applied in both academic and athletic life.

A sincere thank you to all the participants and organizers for their valuable involvement and support.
