BAETE Accreditation Journey: Insights from Experts

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Uttara University organized a mentoring session titled “BAETE Accreditation Journey: Insights from Experts,” focusing on the accreditation preparedness of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Department of Textile Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, and Department of Computer Science and Engineering on August 26, 2026.

The session was conducted by Prof. Md. Abdur Razzak, PhD, Director, IQAC, Independent University, Bangladesh, who shared valuable insights into BAETE accreditation criteria, the BAETE Accreditation Manual V3.0, and the key differences between the current Manual V3.0 and the previous V2.1. He also discussed the preparation and maintenance of course files for theory and sessional courses, including courses involving open-ended and complex engineering problems. In addition, the session covered question moderation processes and relevant forms, mid-term and final-term examination question formats, guidelines for thesis work, and course documentation related to industrial attachment.

The session was attended by an Honorable Member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Uttara University, along with all PSAC members from the four departments under the School of Science and Engineering and the School of Civil, Environmental and Industrial Engineering, as well as the full IQAC team, led by Director Prof. Dr. ASM Shahabuddin.

The mentoring session provided practical guidance to enhance academic practices and strengthen the departments’ preparedness for BAETE accreditation. Such initiatives reflect Uttara University’s continued commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and the successful pursuit of BAETE accreditation.
