Uttara University successfully hosted “The Road to a Career in Professional Accounting: CA, CMA, ACCA & Beyond” on 12 August 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall. Organized by the School of Business in collaboration with the Office of External Affairs (OEA) and ICMAB, the seminar provided students with valuable insights into professional accounting qualifications, career opportunities in Bangladesh and abroad, course exemptions, membership benefits, and real-world career experiences.
The session also featured an inspiring UU alumni perspective, connecting academic learning with professional success and helping students explore pathways to careers in professional accounting.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Md. Mohsin-Ul Islam, Professor, School of Business, Uttara University. S. M. Zahir Uddin Haider, FCMA, Vice President, ICMAB, delivered a session on “Career Opportunities for Future Professional Accountants in Bangladesh and Abroad.”
Dr. Md. Mamunur Rashid, FCMA, Professor & Director, ICMAB, conducted a session on “Why Choose ICMAB? — Curriculum, Course Exemptions & Membership Benefits.” Md. Akram Uddin Ahmed, CMA, CA-PL, UU Alumni, shared his success story and professional experiences as a CMA.




The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Soeb Md Shoayeb Noman, Associate Professor & Program Director, DBA, Uttara University. Mohammad Sharif Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, served as the Master of Ceremony.
By connecting students with professional knowledge, career pathways, and industry expertise, the seminar supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) through career-focused learning, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening career readiness and awareness of employment opportunities, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between Uttara University and ICMAB.
