Uttara University is proud to highlight the inspiring career journey of its graduate Khaled Bin Saifullah, who has built a successful career in the global technology sector and currently serves as a Test Engineer at Google.

Khaled’s journey began with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Cumilla Polytechnic Institute before he joined Uttara University to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). Coming from a Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) background, his experience reflects the opportunities available to students from diverse educational pathways.

At Uttara University, Khaled developed not only his academic foundation but also the communication, teamwork, presentation and problem-solving skills that have contributed to his professional success. Reflecting on his university experience, he highlighted the supportive learning environment and the role of his teachers in helping him build strong fundamentals. His EEE education provided him with a strong foundation in mathematics, logic and analytical thinking. These skills later proved valuable when he began teaching himself programming and transitioned into software engineering. An opportunity to collaborate with a faculty member on a confidential government project also became an important milestone in his career development.

Khaled’s professional journey has included experience with organisations such as Wells Fargo, Johnson & Johnson and Cigna before joining Google. In his current role, he works with technologies including Java and Python while collaborating with cross-functional teams. He emphasises that communication, emotional intelligence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds are as important as technical expertise.

Beyond academics, Khaled recalls his time at Uttara University with fondness, particularly the university library, friendships and informal conversations with peers. He also credits his university years with developing the discipline and time-management skills that continue to guide him today. For current students, Khaled encourages adaptability, curiosity and continuous self-development. During his own university years, he used his mornings for independent study and coding practice alongside his regular classes.

Khaled’s journey from a BTEB background and polytechnic education to Uttara University and ultimately to Google demonstrates how strong academic foundations, supportive faculty, practical experience and self-learning can help students pursue ambitious careers in the global workforce.
