The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Uttara University successfully organised two informative sessions on Erasmus+ and Erasmus Mundus opportunities, reaffirming the university’s commitment to promoting international education and global academic collaboration.
The sessions featured Dr. Md Ashiqur Rahman, Regional Manager (Asia), Centralised Support for Erasmus+ National Focal Points, European Commission, and Former President of the Erasmus Mundus Association, as the keynote speaker. Drawing on his extensive international experience, he provided participants with valuable insights into fully funded higher education opportunities in Europe, application strategies, scholarship opportunities, and pathways to global academic and research collaboration. He also shared practical guidance on preparing competitive applications and making the most of international mobility programmes.


The programme was graced by the Honourable Founder of Uttara University, Professor Dr. M. Azizur Rahman; the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha; Abid Aziz, Honourable Member of the Board of Trustees; and Professor Haspia Bashirullah, Treasurer, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to internationalisation and academic excellence.The event was also attended by Dr. Md. Tareque Aziz, Director, Office of International Affairs; Dr. Md. Faruk Hossain, Deputy Director, Office of International Affairs; Sheikh Yasha Shan, Director, Institutional Ranking Cell (IRC); along with faculty members, administrative officials, and a large number of students eager to explore international academic opportunities. The interactive sessions offered participants a comprehensive understanding of the Erasmus+ and Erasmus Mundus programmes, covering eligibility requirements, scholarship opportunities, application procedures, and the academic and cultural benefits of studying and conducting research in Europe.
Through initiatives like these, Uttara University continues to strengthen its international engagement by connecting its academic community with global opportunities, fostering cross-cultural collaboration, and empowering students and faculty members to excel on the international stage.
