The Blood Donors’ Club of Uttara University successfully organized an “Awareness and Blood Donation Program on Thalassemia Disease” on campus. The initiative aimed to educate the student body, promote a deeper understanding of thalassemia and its prevention and emphasize the critical importance of voluntary blood donation in supporting affected patients.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Parveen Akther Jemy, Advisor of Uttara University and Professor of the Department of Bengali, alongside Dr. Shah Ahmed, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of English. Esteemed faculty members from various departments also attended the event to show their solidarity with the cause.

During the seminar, speakers highlighted the crucial role that young people play in raising social awareness. The program underscored how responsible action, community engagement and regular, voluntary blood donations can directly save lives and alleviate the suffering of thalassemia patients.

With the inspiring theme of “Raising Awareness, Inspiring Hope”, the event successfully motivated a large number of students to step forward as voluntary donors, reinforcing Uttara University’s commitment to building a healthier, more compassionate future.
