In a significant move to enhance the practical learning landscape for engineering students, the Department of EEE, Uttara University of Uttara University has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Basic Power Engineering Ltd., based in Tongi, Dhaka. This strategic partnership was established with the formal approval of higher authorities and received support from the Office of External Affairs of Uttara University. The signing ceremony, attended by senior faculty members of the Department of EEE, marks a dedicated effort to integrate professional industrial standards into the academic curriculum.
The core of this agreement is the joint implementation of the Industrial Attachment Program (EEE 3200). This program is specifically curated to provide undergraduate students with immersive, hands-on industrial experience within real-world engineering environments. By bridging the gap between theoretical classroom knowledge and practical application, the initiative ensures that the university’s educational framework remains in strict alignment with the standards set by BAETE, UGC, and BAC.
The formal signing was conducted by Professor Dr. Md. Shakowat Zaman Sarker, Chairman of the Department of EEE at Uttara University, and Brigadier General (Retd.) Md. Shamsur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Basic Power Engineering Ltd. During the event, Professor Dr. Sarker expressed his deep appreciation to the company for their willingness to support the professional development of students.
Echoing these sentiments, Brigadier General (Retd.) Md. Shamsur Rahman commended Uttara University for its forward-looking approach to engineering education. He expressed a firm commitment to providing students with high-quality, real-world training that fosters both technical skill and professional confidence. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Pradip Kumar Paul, Principal of BPTI, and other distinguished guests.
