Uttara University’s Mental Health Unit inaugurated its month-long Mental Health Awareness Campaign on October 10, 2025, marking World Mental Health Day with a special recognition ceremony honoring compassionate listeners as “Champions of Hope.”

The event celebrated individuals who have shown empathy, understanding, and active support for others’ mental well-being. These dedicated listeners were honored for their significant role in fostering a caring and inclusive environment within the university community.

Professor Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, graced the occasion and handed over certificates to the “Champions of Hope.” In her speech, she emphasized the importance of creating a safe space for open dialogue and mutual support, stating that “mental health is a collective responsibility that starts with kindness, awareness, and empathy.”

The month-long campaign includes seminars, interactive discussions, and counseling sessions aimed at raising awareness, breaking stigma, and promoting emotional resilience among students, faculty, and staff.
Through this initiative, Uttara University reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a compassionate academic environment where mental well-being is prioritized alongside academic excellence.
