The Department of English at Uttara University officially inaugurated the UU English Symposium Series with its first session titled “Tongues, Tales, and Teaching: Reflections on English Studies” on June 26, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the university’s academic calendar, spotlighting scholarly inquiry and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, who attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address on the evolving landscape of English studies in the 21st century.

Dr. Shah Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of English, served as the Convenor of the program, emphasizing the department’s commitment to research-based learning and intellectual exchange. Dr. Haspia Bashirullah, Treasurer of Uttara University, was present as a distinguished guest, adding further significance to the event with her valued presence.

A total of 25 faculty members from the Department of English presented their research papers during the session, covering diverse topics within the field. The symposium provided a vibrant platform for critical reflection, interdisciplinary exchange, and the celebration of scholarly excellence.
