I am pleased to learn that Uttara University is going to hold its 5th Convocation for conferring degrees upon the graduating students on completion of the respective courses in a befitting manner. On this remarkable occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students, erudite faculty of different departments and all concerned of Uttara University.

Education plays an important role in building a knowledge-based society and makes the citizen more capable. It also empowers the people and helps to attain equitable and just society. There is no alternative to education for building an esteemed nation and achieving sustainable development. Universities, both private and public, are the seats of higher learning where teachers and students jointly play a pivotal role in disseminating and acquiring knowledge. Educational excellence is bound up with research and innovation. I hope that Uttara University would impart quality education with moral values for the sake of the nation.

I hope the graduating students of Uttara University will serve the nation imbued with the sense of patriotism. I, once again, congratulate the graduating students on their brilliant accomplishment and wish them a very bright future.

I am happy to know that Uttara University is going to hold its 5th Convocation on 09 January 2017. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the graduating students, their parents, faculty members and the university authority.

Awami League government has given utmost priority on higher education based on innovative research activities to facilitate country9s socio-economic development. In this regard, we adopted a modern, scientific and time-befitting Education Policy to ensure quality education. We enacted Private University Act-2010 to boost up higher education facilities. Since 2009, the government established 8 public universities and gave permission to set up and operate 42 private universities. Private universities have become an integral part of this government endeavours to build a knowledge-based society.

I hope that the universities to keep providing financial support in the form of scholarships and tuition waivers to students, especially females and children of minority communities and of freedom fighters of our Liberation wars in 1971.

I believe, the graduating students of Uttara University will play a vital role in building a 8Sonar Bangla9 as dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

I wish the 5th Convocation of Uttara University a grand success.

On this auspicious occasion, I would like to congratulate the graduates who have completed degrees from the different fields of study of Uttara University. I also extend my warm thanks and gratitude to the respected parents, guardians, teachers and the university authority of the graduates for their valuable help and continuous support for the successful completion of their degrees.

Learning is a lifelong pursuit that demands further enhancement of one9s career and personal life. Proper education can make a person successful which is considered as his foundation. I believe that through achieving this degree, the graduates have already created a very strong base and foundation. Now, they need to act upon it that will help them achieving their success and progress our beloved country as well.
